Prince Edward Island (PEI) is Canada's smallest province, consisting of an island in the Gulf of St. Lawrence. The province has the fewest number of people, with approximately 140,000 residents on the island. It is a very popular tourist destination, and therefore, the population rises substantially in the summer.

PEI is famous for its agricultural red soil, which grows some of the finest potatoes in the world. Despite its small size, it is Canada's largest potato producer. PEI's other industries include fisheries and some services.
